Editor: This letter is to share with others my experience with a successful ending to recent back surgery. I luckily became the patient of Dr. Mario Pereira. Sept, 2011. I recently suffered a traumatic injury. I had a great deal of pain due to this injury. The pain was persistent and had felt like someone was holding a blow torch across my shoulders, my neck and the base of my skull. When I was evaluated by Dr. Pereira he informed that I had a large posterior disc herniation at C3/C4 and recommended surgery. We opted to do the surgery as an outpatient procedure at the Murdock Ambulatory Surgery Center. I was able to go home the same day after having a procedure that normally would require a 2 to 3 day hospital admission by less skilled physicians. My pain immediately improved after having surgery and is now just a bad memory. Thank you Dr. Pereira! Steven E. Leonard
